Window Tinting & Auto Care FAQs | American Auto Connection

Can I roll my windows down right after?

No. Film needs 3–5 days of cure time before the windows can go down. Rolling them early causes the film to crease or shift at the edges, which requires a full re-do on that pane. We give you the specific cure window based on the film type and weather on install day.

How long do vehicle graphics last?

Properly installed vinyl graphics last 5–7 years with normal vehicle use and NC weather exposure. Reflective film and specialty finishes may have slightly shorter lifespans in high direct-sun environments. All installations include our workmanship warranty.

How much does paint protection film cost?

Pricing depends on how much of the vehicle you want covered — a partial front package costs far less than a full-vehicle wrap in film. We give every customer a clear, upfront quote after we see the vehicle, so you know the exact price before we start. Reach out for a free quote.

Will tinting affect operator visibility from the cab?

We select films in the 35–50% VLT range for equipment cabs — enough to significantly reduce glare and heat without darkening the cab to a level that hurts visibility. Operator sight lines are always the priority when we recommend a film for a specific cab configuration.

How dark can I legally go in North Carolina?

NC law requires a minimum 32.5% total VLT on all windows. Since factory glass already transmits about 76% light, we apply a 40% film to bring your vehicle into full legal compliance. We will not install film that puts you below the legal threshold.

Will window film make my home too dark inside?

The level of visible light reduction depends entirely on the film selected. Solar control films can reject significant heat while reducing visible light by only 15–20%. We help you choose the right film for each room based on your light preferences and privacy needs.

Do you come to the job site or do we bring equipment to you?

We come to you. Transporting heavy equipment to a shop is not practical, so we operate as a fully mobile service for equipment tinting jobs. We travel to sites within 40 miles of our Garner location — contact us to confirm your site address.

How long does GSWF paint protection film last?

GSWF film is built to hold up for years of daily driving against rock chips, road debris, and UV exposure. With proper care — which we walk you through at pickup — it stays clear and protective for a long service life. We're happy to go over what to expect for your specific package.

What does a full vehicle tint cost?

Full vehicle tinting in the Garner area runs roughly $200–$450 for most personal vehicles, depending on window count and vehicle size. Trucks, SUVs, and vehicles with complex rear glass panels run toward the higher end. We give exact quotes after seeing the vehicle.

How long will my tint last?

Quality film installed correctly lasts 10+ years without fading, bubbling, or cracking under normal conditions. Every installation we do is covered by a lifetime warranty on both the film and the workmanship — if anything ever fails, we handle it.
